Amnesty has been an extremely emotional topic on Capitol Hill and main street America for years. I personally do not have a problem with “legal” entry into our country. On the other hand, illegal immigrants have been crossing our southern borders daily in staggering numbers; that I ardently oppose! The majority of these trespassers are Mexican citizens however, others from a wide range of countries also use Mexico as a point of entry into the USA.

Due to the political aspirations of our government leaders, this group of individuals has been pandered to since 1986. That's when the first Amnesty law passed and illegal immigration numbers started to escalate. Our government is presently considering a new Amnesty bill that many oppose, as do I. Amnesty, sends the wrong message concerning our borders, our immigration laws, and the lack of prosecutorial action if violated. Representatives Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill), and Solomon Ortiz (D-Tex). authored this egregious bill. I encourage you to read the bill summary and come to your own conclusions concerning who it will protect.

When elected to office the representative takes an oath vowing to protect and represent the rights of United States citizens. H.R. 4321 violates that oath by protecting a group of individuals who deliberately disregard our Federal Immigration Laws daily. What our government should do is enforce existing Immigration Laws and avoid the far-reaching effects of another amnesty program. H.R.4321 is more contemptible than the amnesty bill passed in 1986. My question is this; why should those who intentionally break Federal Immigration Law be rewarded with amnesty. If an American citizen breaks a law, we suffer the consequences and our reward could be jail or prison.

I personally view H.R. 4321, as an outrageous act of discrimination by our government against the United States Citizens. Please contact your member(s) of congress and communicate your thoughts on H. R. 4321.

We the people must speak out and put those in Washington on alert that we want the border secured and the present laws to be enforced.

Releasing the illegals and sending them back to the border is

not working ,they keep trying and get caught only to be released again.

Without a punishment like incarceration the laws are inept.

How about interment camps along the border, fence them in and put them in tents in the hot desert. The national guard needs to enforce the laws, we are a nation of the rule of law. President Obama, the attorney general and congress are responsible to enforcing the laws.

enough is enough,

Representatives Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill), and Solomon Ortiz (D-Tex). authored the new amnesty bill. Although the majority of citizens strongly object to the idea of amnesty, our leaders are attempting to pass it once again. I and Nancy's Niche encourage you to read the bill summary and come to your own conclusions concerning who it will protect.

attention! Please contact your member(s) of congress and communicate your thoughts on H. R. 4321.

Jon, thanks for your interest in this article and your comment...I have every intention of voting against incumbents in 2010-2012 & 2013...They have forgotten one important thing---ours is a government for the people and by the people!

Shut down borders, implement same laws Mexico has for us concerning illegals. These people do not want to assimulate, they want freebies, drug money, violence, ect. I know some who are wonderful people that have struggled for a better life, but most just want the entitlements, and democrats need their votes.

American Romance, thanks for your comment and I agree that we need to secure our borders and enforce "existing immigration laws," instead of rewarding these people with amnesty. Our government, and therein lies the problem, needs to abolish every incentive which encourages the illegal entry into our country. Isn't it sad that our leaders set their sights on a particular ethnic group for votes instead of being concerned about "all" votes...

“The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, and whether hereditary, self-appointed, or elective, may justly be pronounced the very definition of TYRANNY!”

Hi Nancy, I too heard sometime back that Mexico was an easy entry point for illegal immigrants from all parts of the world who want to enter the USA.

I was under the impression that the problem had already been resolved.

Quicksand, thanks for your comment and no, the problem with entrance from Mexico still exist. The key is enforcement of our immigration law, which the US government refuses to execute. Therefore, Arizona, along with other states, is initiating trespassing laws that mirror immigration law in order to curb the influx of illegal crossings.

As you've indicated, this is a somewhat long standing problem that apprently several administrations haven't adequately addressed. I'm ok with helping "illegals" get legal, but in the end, I agree we need to quit overlooking the issue and in essence condoning the behavior.

mulberry1, thanks for your comment. The amnesty granted in 1986, “helped illegal’s to become legal" and from that point on, illegal entry continues to escalate. Until our government enforces the immigration laws and renounces amnesty, the problem will persist. Every time they grant amnesty, they rewrite our immigration laws and disregard enforcement. In this situation, we need to quit condoning all participants’ behavior.

Were you aware that 10% of the births in the US were of illegal immigrant mothers ?

Here's another note,66% of the births in Los Angeles public hospitals were of immigrant women.

Wonder why California is broke?

Mmmmh... I'm nodding my head in Agreement. We face similar issues in UK. Immigration has risen so high and I feel people twitching. E.g "Refugees/Asylum seekers" coming in to the country and given priority housing over Core Citizens, People not being able to get their kids into schools of their choice that are close to home and Job situations too.

Amnesty is not a good idea for the US as the figures are already high. But Nancy, how about the Green Card issue? It's legal but brings a lot of people to the US. Do you think it should be abolished? It's been running for years.

Regards,

Elena

Lady_E, I agree that our Green Card Visa’s need to be eliminated for awhile as should all immigration. To date the US unemployment rate is approximately 9.9%. That figure is staggering yet, thanks to our government, available jobs are being given to Green Card Visa’s and the approximate 12 to 20 million illegal immigrants in our country. The driving force behind this reckless behavior is the GREED of big business, CEO’s, and investors who want everything for zero expense. Their co conspirators---our own elected leaders due to lack of immigration enforcement and lobbyist incentives…

Maybe the US should come down hard on the people who hire illegals. They come here for jobs. If there were no jobs, they would not come.

I agree with you Dolores; employers of illegals do need to be penalized. However, one of the main reasons they cross the border illegally is explained at the following link:

Thanks High and Mighty for your visit and comment. I would venture that 80% of citizens agree with this article. Now, if we could only get our government to listen to our voices on this issue. However, they are too busy playing politics and pandering to the wrong group; time to clean house and get rid of the career politicians come November.

Hi Nancy - I understand that more illegals have been deported in the last 2 years than ever in the past. So the administration is doing something about it. I personally know some illegals and they are not real happy either and are thinking of going home. The high tide of illegal immigration started when the economy was rolling high with plenty of jobs to go around. Well that's over.

Anonymous, thanks for the confirmation concerning the seriousness of abuse by illegal immigrants against America’s Immigration Laws. Your statement also shows the many laws this person intentionally violated. Shame on our government for allowing these deliberate violations to continue with no legal consequence!

I could not approve the comment by Anonymous (shown above) which showed the name and address information of the violator. His/Her statement detailed a payment of $5,000.00 dollars for a work visa, fake documents used to secure work & now she has began the process for citizenship.

Nancy, USA will lose this war, because it is alone against the whole world, nobody can help USA from abroad because almost all web sites are designed to receive ony email from inside USA. while enemies of USA can get emails from the whole world. If someone wants to write to a US COngressman to give a solution, it is impossible.
