HISTORY IS MADE
My niche is writing and this venue gives me the opportunity to do just that. To share the many topics that cross my mind during a 24-hour period. What, you may ask, is my all time passion--- its photography. A hobby, which I will include and share with you from time to time. After all, our world is full of everyday events, subject matter and pictures.
For instance, on January 20, 2009, we witnessed the swearing in of our 44thpresident Barock Obama. This indeed was an historic event. He is a communicator, a creative thinker, and not afraid to reach out to the individual for input concerning the country’s problems. He is a man that has gathered around him a resource of intelligent and experienced individuals in their fields.
So, engage yourself and be a part of the solution. Make your voice heard by logging onto http://whitehouse.gov, and tell President Obama what your thoughts are on the economic issues that you are facing…
For me the issues are free trade, job outsourcing, and the greed of CEO’s, high cost of gas, social security abuse by our government, unobtainable health care, poor education, and boarder security. Maybe my list will aid you in writing your email.
An article I read on the internet today also troubles me; here is the link. Take time to examine it. You may think this is irrational but, in view of our country’s job losses and financial decline, one must not over look the real possibility of such an occurrence.
The basis of tragedy is man's helplessness against disease, war and death; the basis of comedy is man;s helplessness against vanity (the vanity of love, greed, lust, power). ~~Dawn Powell

I dropped by to read this again. Obama is actually visiting UK this week - 23 May 2011. I'm sure you'll be following details in the news.... :)
Have a good week.
A Thought provoking Hub. I wasn't aware you could make your voice heard by logging onto http://whitehouse.gov
I'm sure at the moment, Obama has thousands of messages about the BP Oil Spill. As Jama stated: I wouldn't want Obama's job for all the tea in China.
Best Wishes. :)
Thanks for this nice Hub how i miss this before
I wouldn't want Obama's job for all the tea in China. I am continually amazed that he can function at all considering the problems he inherited from Idiot Boy. And how hypocritical that the same people who stayed mum when IB was 'crashing the family station wagon into the world' as Maureen Dowd so aptly put it, are now screaming the loudest about every little thing that Obama does (or doesn't do). Perfect example of 'if you aren't part of the solution, you're par of the problem'.
Personally, I think senators should be limited to one term, two at the most, so that they aren't around long enough to do much damage. Unfortunately, they also happen to be the ones who have put term limits on themselves - yeah, that's gonna happen.
Congress is totally out of touch with the voters they're supposed to represent. The election process is so skewed now that good candidates don't have a chance and bad ones get re-elected ad nauseum. The congresswoman from my district is a Repug who only got elected by lying out both sides of her rather ugly mouth, both senators from my state are also Repugs. Which means, as a long-time Democrat, I have NO representation in Congress.
It's not a matter of 'throwing all the bums out'. The trick is to keep the good ones - there ARE some - and get rid of the rest. Take corporate contributions out of the picture altogether. Make it easier for third party candidates to win. Condense the campaign season to a few weeks (or a few months at most) as Canada and the UK do. Too much time is spent on campaigning and fund raising and too little on governing.
Thanks for this Hub - I see so many negative Hubs about Mr Obama that I sometimes wonder if the man I have seen is the same as the one others seem to see.
Love and peace
Tony
Personally I am pro-Obama and Democrats, but I listened to what you had to say. At least your are respectful about your opinions unlike others on here, but I am a pro-Obama girl!
Great hub, and I am glad you keep sharing your concerns. Now hopefully others who read your hub will also :).
Nancy, you are so right. How many times have I just sat here griping and groaning without really making my thoughts known to the people in power. If enough of us did speak up, maybe someone would listen.
Thanks for the nudge to participate in the discussions. We all need to be involved!
Nice hub. Thank you for sharing. I too am an author. Please visit my hubs when you have a chance, my link for my book is there too. I would love your feedback.
