The 2009 Copenhagen Climate Treaty
65Lord Christopher Monckton 2009
The Globel Warming Tax Scam!
UPDATE 1/6/2010: World leaders [attending the Copenhagen Climate Meeting last month] failed to agree on a “tough – fair” and binding treaty to reduce global warming. While I believe in good earthly housekeeping, I also believe it must be accomplished globally through individual awareness and accountability. Obama did sign the treaty. However, for the treaty to be enforced all countries attending had to sign on the dotted line…Thankfully; the outcome of the meeting has left our country’s sovereignty and constitution intact; let’s keep it that way.
In the news today 11-26-09
President Obama is going to attend the UN Climate Conference in Copenhagen. He will commit to cutting emissions, over the next decade, to 17% below the 2005 levels. His figure amounts to 5.5% below the 1990 levels that most countries use as a reference point. Will he sign a treaty to this effect or verbally commit? Let us hope it be niether! Please take time to read this article and listen to the videos. Then, you will understand the importance of NOT SIGNING THEIR TREATY!
Just when you think, the sharks were driven back out to sea you find their lurking nearby. The sharks I am referring to is the UN, our congressional leaders, and the Copenhagen Climate Conference. In December, President Obama may travel to Denmark and attend this conference. He will also find that the conference includes a treaty, which will be presented to all in attendance. Their signature is optional; sign or do not sign. Let us hope our president does not sign. In my opinion, this treaty is unnecessary to a climate agenda. I agree that we all need to be mindful and take steps to protect our environment as a nation. I also feel that accountability belongs solely to “each individual nation” without the dictation of a treaty.
Mr. President you need to be aware that cloaked within the treaty is language, which will create a “world government”. In fact, this stipulation appears as the first of three positions. The second position will move the wealth from western countries to third world countries for restoration. This will be done under the guise of coyly, or “climate debt”. Their logic is that we have been burning the most CO2. In other words, we have been destroying the environment and they have not. The third position of this new group is enforcement, which is the most perilous position of all! They will structure enforcement through technological resources. Their power will rule as seen in paragraphs 36 and 38 of the treaty.
Paragraphs 36 and 38 of the treaty clearly foresee the creation of a new world ‘government’ with express powers of intercession in economic and environmental affairs of individual nations, and the heads of any elected government.
Article VI of the US Constitution is required to be read in concurrence with the Vienna Convention when relating to International Treaties. The Supreme Court has found that an international treaty prevails over the Constitution to the extent that there is a conflict."
Due to the devious wording, this treaty would nullify our constitution and government leaders! We would not be able to remove ourselves from this treaty nor could you Mr. President. In fact, you and the congress would become an ineffectual source of government. Therefore, my position is this, NO surrendering of our national sovereignty; NO agreement to shift our wealth to other countries; NO submissiveness to any world government or official.
This treaty Mr. President is UNACCEPTABLE to the people of the United States---the people you represent!
Contact your representatives and tell them NO to this treaty!

This is new to me but I understand all your reasons and hope he doesn't sign the Treaty too. I wonder if there will be any clues from the White House to know what his intentions are.
I hope there are many more articles like this, that he gets to read and thinks twice before his trip to Denmark. Regards.
Hi Nancy, Here's wishing you a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year!
Politically we are just night and day, but as Americans we do have the right to feel how we feel. That is why I have written the hubs I write on politics, but I know my research, knowledge, and passion are important for the world to share. I know you have a lot of passion too, and thanks for sharing it. Politically I do not agree with much of it, but I guess that is what makes the world go round.
There are so many ways of looking at the whole climate issue. It is a fact that America used so much more energy than developing countries. I can't believe that any president would sign away our constitution. The whole world government has been a pressing issue for some time, but the real power today lies, not with any country or the UN but with huge corporations that have a stranglehold on all of us.
Hope that you have a very Merry Christmas and a Great New Year!
It's the corporations that enshrine greed and it's greed that is threatening us all. We need to change our attitudes and realise that we are all responsible for what happens in the world, our little corners and the rest of the world also. We are all connected and dependent on each other. That's why we in the developing world were and are so upset that Bush refused to sign the Kyoto protocols - that seemed such an arrogant disregard for the rest of the world. We have some hope that Obama might be more accomodating, but he is also forced to dance to the tune the corporations play to some extent.
Anyway we certainly need to reduce, re-use and re-cycle as much as possible.
Thnaks for sharing your thoughts. I must say that the fear the people of the US seem to have about world government doesn't resonate with me. We already have it - it's the corporations that already rule the world and they are not accountable to anyone. That is scary to me.
Love and peace
Tony
There is no doubt plenty of corruption in government, all administrations, although some more than others. But, I must agree with some commenters who say the most corrupt are the corporations. Indeed the government must often do their bidding to the detriment of the people. I think you put forth your ideas very well!
- The Government Deficit
Complete power, does corrupt completely and it begins with the desire for greed and control. Unfortunately, with this type of individual enough, is never enough. - 9 months ago

So glad to see more out on this. All along I was thinking that the health care hoopla was about something else. Could this be what it was supposed to distract us from?
