It is too easy to let your emotions rule, and get off track. Especially, considering our current financial and economic crisis. I know, because every time I see a homeless person, or read about families with children on the street, I become enraged. Therefore, I have to rethink how I express my concerns before posting or emailing them to my elected representatives. Ever the optimist, I really think we now have someone in the White House that will listen and is concerned with doing the---right thing---for the American people...
Let us keep in mind that no President will please all the people, all of the time but if he pleases most of the people, most of the time---then he is a success! We would be wise to remember that this dreadful situation will not be turned around in a matter of weeks or months. Let's all give Obama the support and the time he needs to get this country back on its feet.
So let’s not rush right out to sign up as a member of the "Naysayers Club." Instead, speak up through your blogs, email your representatives, write editorials in your local newspaper, and track the bills on the floor. Take an active part in speaking out for the betterment of this great nation and our future generations.

Where is George W. Bush when you need him. While we were being attacked by terrorist, political parties put their differenced aside and banded together and sang God bless America. Now even when we agree on an issue we find reason to argue. Obama is tearing our country apart. He allows terrorist to form, recruit and train for the purpose of destroying capitalism. He threatens our national security by giving terrorist miranda rights while taking American freedoms away. He is promising to reduce our nuclear weapons and do unto others as they haven't unto us. The only reason it took so long for him to speak out against the leaders in Iran is if he were truly speaking of his own accord he would have spoke out for the leaders not the persecuted people of Iran. Because that is how he wishes to run America. If ever a president should be impeached this one should.
;lkj'lk, You can thank George W for the devastating situation our country is in today. In my opinion, he should have been thrown out his first term in office. I appreciate your position and comment on this issue however, when it comes to the Bush administration, we will agree to disagree.
The point of my article is this---we need to stand strong together as citizens of our country and protect it. If our leaders are not doing their job (whatever their party affiliation) then we need to vote them out of office or impeach them before they can do extreme harm. United we stand, divided we fall…

Nancy, thank you for you speaking with some sense, so little of it around these days. What with all the vitriol, how will anything get accomplished? How do they expect people to listen to insults and lies? In order to proceed in any direction, we need to speak with civility, to state our points in an honest manner, and say what we actually mean.
Delores thanks for spending time here and your very nice comment. I agree with you and that was the point I was making in my article. Speaking up in a truthful and civil manner, along with our vote, are powerful tools for change.
Nancy, I also think that a lot of people who are now fighting one another actually have the same basic desires, and concern for the same problems. Lefties and righties all seem to worry over the economy, over sending jobs overseas, too much corporate power, the war, and many other things. Maybe with a bit of civility, we'll all come together and really get something done.
Thanks for your comment Delores---Until people educate themselves and stay informed nothing is going to change; we are in charge of our own destiny. Too many have their head in the sand and hope the problems will go away. I wish it was that simple but it is not. Apathy---is the greatest threat we have to our freedoms and constitution. Allowing our government to run amuck has brought us the problems of today.
